THE GALLERY

Founded in London in 2011, Marion Friedmann Gallery is dedicated to the discovery and presentation
of exceptional collectible design, art, and craft.
The gallery focuses on avant-garde practices, with particular attention to Mexican and Latin American talent,
both established and emerging.

Working across disciplines, the gallery approaches design and making as cultural practices
shaped by material knowledge, experimentation, and critical inquiry.
At the core of the program is a commitment to material culture:
the preservation of traditions and craftsmanship, the intelligence of the handmade,
and the continued relevance of craft in contemporary contexts.
The gallery engages with material innovation, social design, ecological thinking,
and a conscious re-evaluation of resources, positioning contemporary making at the intersection of art, design, and craft.

EXHIBITIONS & PROJECTS

The gallery’s trajectory began with Enlightened Waste at the London Design Festival in 2011.
Since then, exhibitions and projects have taken place in London, Austria, Milan, and Mexico City,
creating platforms for exceptional artists and designers and fostering cultural exchange across geographies.
The gallery embraces a nomadic, transnational model and champions overlooked and emerging voices,
supporting experimental practices and positioning them within an international context.

The handmade is central to the gallery’s philosophy.
Craft is understood as a living practice—one that carries knowledge and cultural memory
while remaining open to experimentation and contemporary expression.
