FOREST SPRING is a new cast concrete cabinet, with plant relief imprints. The plants were harvested in spring 2023 and conserved for eternity on the doors of the cabinet.
The piece is from a new collection of unique cast concrete cabinets and furniture by the artist Stefan Buxbaum that evoke a surprising sensation, the brutalist concrete being in contrast with the softness and sensibility of nature and plant specimens cast with the material.
A cabinet of reminiscence. The beauty of the plants takes centre stage in this piece. Their tender waves combined with the chaste, glacial concrete tell the story of a melancholic yet noble goodbye, the remembrance of a once blooming tale of springtime, a sigh and a cry, to release and to long.
