PIECES EXHIBITED

‘ANACRONOS’ - WALL LIGHT SCULPTURES

by LAS ÁNIMAS, SEVILLA, SPAIN, 2024

SIZE: 98 X 45 X 14 CM // 38.19” x 17.72” x 5.51”

MATERIAL: EPOXY RESIN, hand-molded, lost Mold technique

ANACRONOS is a pair of tall wall lights or wall sculptures, hand-made by Las Ánimas in epoxy resin. Abstract deconstructions where glimpses of H.R. Giger's sci-fi imagery (Alien) blend with three-dimensional geometric visual plays, cybernetics, and psychonautical journeys. The hand-crafted texturing of the material generates an organic and watery volume.

Las Ánimas, the artistic studio from Seville, Spain, is formed by Trini Salamanca and Pablo Párraga. Both of them develop an aesthetic universe where, through different materials, they create works that act as triggers for our collective memory. TOTEMS where function and artistic form blend through textures, structures, and color.

“SATELITE”, WALL SCONCES

by Thierry Jeannot

MATERIAL: recycled PET plastic bottles, PERSPEX, ALUMINIum, Steel

SIZE: H: 66 X 17 X 10 CM

The piece is a result of Jeannot’s over 20 year-long research into the PET material and its characters and origins within the trash system in Mexico City. The artist achieves a true transformation of those specimens of plastic into a piece of art. They have a strong effect on the public eye in the sense of ‘what you see is not what you get’.

His work indeed transfers waste into luxury and carries the inherent message that waste is a luxury. Thierry's work has additionally a social aspect. He incorporates groups of disadvantaged people within Mexico City in teaching them to find the right type of bottles, rescue them from trash and in involving them in various aspects within the construction process. This work has changed many lives and given new hope. As such the pieces are stunning, sparkling light objects and a powerful testimony to life and beauty.
