This sculptural piece by Julio Martínez Barnetche is a technical tour de force resulting in an apparatus like light gesture. Its name ‘Rińones’ or ‘Brains’ refers to the fascinating amber piece, originating from Simojovel, in Chiapas, Mexico. Wood with brass tops grasp the piece to let it dance in the air. The light source directed at the gemstone, makes it an indirect mystical source of light. Chipas is well known for its high quality ambers.
