Sculptural table lamp in directly carved basalt, gold leaf and plastered with Jicorite pigment. This basalt is a volcanic stone from the famous Popocatépetl volcano, the last active volcano in Mexico. Designed and crafted by artist and stone master Julio Martínez Barnetche.

Apart from their functional purpose as a light source, the piece is a sculptural artwork and high craft, carved by hand in a highly laborious process.

Each piece when used, also conveys a RITUAL, like cooking and eating are rituals. Hand-carved of volcanic stone from the famous Popocatépetl volcano, the last active volcano in Mexico.

Apart from their usefulness, the pieces are at the same time sculptures and high craft. Each piece is carved by hand in a highly laborious process.
