A light sculpture by the hands of Julio Martínez Barnetche, with the high attention to detail that his work is known for. In this body of work that comprises 4 such sculptural lights, Julio creates a centre stage for the star, which is a very precious and beautifully carved specimen of a WHITE COLOMBIAN QUARTZ. The Quartz is set with Montana Sapphires and subtly held by arms of slender carved ebony. As such the exquisite gem specimen floats above a custom-made box, which on its inside is layered with Lapis Lazuli pigment and gold leaf and lit from within, offering minute light beams towards the Quartz gem to enlighten it. When lit, the quartz and the sapphires reflect the light and become the light source. A genius methodology to present and make shine a treasured gem specimen.
